Summary	"The submarines surfaced together at the North Pole, carried out anti-submarine warfare exercises, collected scientific information, and established a new year round submarine channel by exploring a passage through the Kennedy and Robeson channels (between Greenland and Ellesmere Island). The two submarines proceeded to the historic meeting, operating independently, carrying out tests of electronic equipment and gathering scientific information. all tests of sonar capabilities, ASW capabilities, and underwater communications proved highly successful. The USS Skate, of the U.S. Atlantic Fleet, departed her home port of New London, Conn., on 2 July. The USS Seadragon, of the U.S. Pacific Fleet, departed her home port of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on 12 July."
