Summary	Medal is a bronze disc. Obverse shows a sheathed Roman sword hanging on a tablet which is inscribed "FOR SERVICE ON THE MEXICAN BORDER" surrounded by a laurel wreath; reverse has the Coat of Arms of the United States above a scroll and surrounded by a wreath. Medal is suspended from a green ribbon with a gold center stripe. Bar ribbons are matching green and gold.
